Carl Hiaasen always delivers exactly what we never knew we wanted. This time, it’s a blustering politician, a status-obsessed crowd of ultra-rich Florida retirees, an eccentric wildlife handler, and a ton of dangerous reptiles. What could go wrong? After rich socialite Kiki Pew goes missing from a frivolous Palm Beach fundraiser, the chaotic investigation quickly spirals into a panic. The political establishment cleverly uses her disappearance to stir up unrest, making waves that reach all the way to the man sitting in the Oval Office. Brilliantly mixing crime fiction and dark political comedy, Squeeze Me is a cutting satire about just how out-of-touch the wealthy elites who run society often are. The zany plot relentlessly zigs and zags, shot through with Hiaasen’s trademark progressive political commentary. Carl rides higher than ever, again
I’m a Hiassen fan having read many of his Florida-based stories. This one doesn’t disappoint. Mixing in a character disguised as a familiar President allowed the author to go off the deep end of ridiculousness and entertain as never before. For those supporters of our recent President who have dumped on Squeeze Me, get over it and get a sense of humor. This is a sorely needed bit of fiction for our sad times and a breath of fresh air. So clever and funny it will have readers guffawing at every twist and turn. Enjoy!
Absolute garbage
This is hands down not only his worst book he has ever done but it might be one of the worst I’ve ever listened too or read.
