Extremely enjoyable and difficult to put down. Marchion Ro is presented as a legitimate threat to not only the republic, but the Jedi. The ball is squarely in Ro's court for the entirety of the story, and the Jedi are placed on the backfoot. Some of the themes with Bell seem to be retreading old ground, but he was still one of the better characters to follow. Nan and a random smuggler/hauler were definitely the weak points, but not enough to drag this down.

Another solid entry in the adult-line High Republic novels. I don't feel it's as strong as Light of the Jedi, but it's an enjoyable and hectic journey that's willing to remind the reader that its characters are in genuine danger. It also does a good job of exploring the broader relationship between individuals and the force, so lore nerds like myself will be pleased by this entry.

This epically continues the series after having read book 2: "StarWars, The High Republic: The Rising Storm". Fans of Dune, The Foundation and pretty well all other major SciFi works will greatly enjoy this novel (and series.) The book's are filled with wisdom, that's showcased by how the characters act and think. Just for future readers awareness, this is the 3rd book in the adult-series of StarWars' official High Republic timeline. THR is set before all of the movies in fact! & StarWars is developing a game, called "Eclipse," that will be set in this era as well :) Read order thus far: The Light of the Jedi, The Rising Storm and then continues The Fallen Star. Thanks for writing this very fun read, Claudia Gray & the whole THR SW team!
