About this ebook

You never know who’s watching. . . .

A successful therapist’s world is upended when her patients are targeted by a campaign of twisted psychological harassment in this propulsive novel from the author of Convince Me.

Dr. Laina Landers is good at her job. She’s an accomplished therapist, dedicated and compassionate. When she is summoned by a panicked patient who is being held hostage by her husband, she intervenes and dissuades him. Laina becomes a media sensation. But as her star rises, a target is placed on her back.

Not everyone is impressed by Laina’s achievements. Someone has it in for her and is targeting what matters to her most: her patients. One by one, Laina’s patients spiral after they receive unsettling gifts that mock their deepest fears and hidden traumas. Liana’s own home is targeted, in a mysterious break-in where nothing is taken, but left behind is the same message sent to her patients: Watching you

Enlisting Cal Murray, an ambitious and charismatic investigative journalist to whom she has an explosive attraction, Laina must examine her patients’ lives and her own to identify the culprit. All she knows for sure? It’s someone with access to her records. Someone who wants to destroy her stellar reputation, shatter her newfound success, and even, perhaps, end her life.

This was a wild ride. It kept me interested for sure. Very suspenseful. It almost seemed too long. Maybe because of going back and forth with the stalker. I loved Cal and also cop Cal. But wasn’t crazy about Laina. I would’ve ditched her first time she started asking those weird inappropriate questions after the first hookup. The only reason I’m counting off any stars is the whole political correctness about race and especially how often it was brought up. I almost stopped reading. It almost offended me. Not everyone is racist. But what upset me the most is how it was blatant about cops treating someone so bad because they were black. They aren’t all like that. My hubby was a cop for years. Don’t stereotype someone just because they are white or a cop! It goes both ways. This sort of ruined the book. It really offends me how the author thinks so little of cops. Try living in their shoes. They aren’t all bad. She knows so little that she even has that police cars have red lights. Cops use blue lights, not red. Only fire and rescue use red. Other than that, it reminded me some of The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. It has potential but I fear it will put people off if the race comments aren’t toned down. I admit, I had to peek at end before I finished because I just couldn’t stand not knowing. I was really floored! Didn’t see that coming. Thank you to NetGalley and the author/publisher for this read
