He confronts her, accusing her of "emotional fraud" and spurring Marnie to reevaluate the ethics of selecting gifts on behalf of clients, especially when it enables infidelity. When the teenage daughter Luke never knew he had reaches out to him, however, he needs Marnie's help to make a meaningful connection, setting the two on a path to romance. But what happens when their budding relationship threatens to derail Marnie's quest to salvage her business and save Brian's marriage? Darke moves seamlessly among multiple points of view, justifying the leisurely pace with lovely prose, a meaty plot, and fleshed out characterization. Readers will have no trouble rooting for these flawed but lovable characters to learn, thrive, and find love.

Excellent read!
This was such a great book. I really loved it. The idea of a professional gift-buyer sounds amazing, and I loved the way Marnie just wanted to claim her family home. Her relationship with Luke was interesting in the way it was layered. They really fit, but the conflict really fit their characters. I found myself understanding where both of them were coming from.
I also liked the additional points of view from Suzanne and Brian, although to be honest, the book probably would have been fine without them. If you like women's fiction in the vein of Georgia Clarke, I'd say to give this a try.

Excellent read.
A life changing mix up that plays havoc with clients lives and leads the way to what is truly important to those same individuals. I enjoyed this book and Marnie and Luke’s path to their own important personal stories. This story has its ups and downs but all works out. Enjoyed this very much, a definite addition to your TBR list and a great vacation read.

Marnie Fairchild, owner of Wish & Co , makes sure every detail down to the wrap is considered when selecting the perfect gift. When a mix up occurs at Wish & Co, a gift buying service for the wealthy, where the mistress recieves the wife gift and vice versa, will this be the beginning of the end for the company? Can Marnie smooth things over to make it better?
Luke, the son of Brian and Suzanne whose marriage is destroyed by the mix up is left to pick up the pieces. He is struggling with his own life secrets. Will he be able to figure out his own life despite the chaos? Will he be able to tell his parents the secret he has?
A charming, witty, and fun story that will even have you laughing at times!
