It's a decently told story of perhaps one of the overdone genres ever. It's the orphan who goes seeking her actual parents. It's got a good spin on it seeing as it's placed in one of Brooks' fantasy worlds, but the plot becomes rather predictable after a certain point. It's not a bad story, but I kind of felt that the plot had few surprises for me given how many of Brooks' books I've read. Still, ever since A Princess of Landover hit the stores, I've noticed a change in his writing. I've been wondering if he's had a stroke or is perhaps having someone else do his writing for him. His stories haven't had the usual kick I'm used to.
