Unabridged Audiobook
Phaedra Brighton is an empire gown wearing English professor that is consulting on a TV show called "Who Wants to Marry Mr. Darcy". It takes place at Marling, an estate that her friend Charlene married into and quickly inherits when her newlywed husband was murdered. I enjoy book 1 of "A Jane Austen Tea Society Mystery." I thought the book was going to be more about the TV show Phaedra was consulting on, but it really isn't in the book much. It is more about Phaedra helping Charlene clear her name of murder while she meets and interacts with the staff at Marling. Phaedra has two potential love interest. Detective Morelli and Shakespearean professor Mark Seldon. Personally, I am over love triangles. I understand it adds conflict to a story but I've grown tired of the love triangle. That is probably my only negative comment about the book. There is plenty of characters to get to know and enough issues popping up that the story keeps going. I look forward to book 2. I cannot wait to uncover more of Phaedra and her family and friends.
