I was 14 years old when i read this, exactly the emo phase where i had gone through. My friend lent me the book, saying I act like the protagonist—Claire. While reading the book, i was completely overwhelmed since it's a different genre that i used to read. Beforehand, i was into classic fictions, though this book was modern. Everything about it was so gracefully classic, the rhythm of how well Meg Wolitzer writes, and every intriguing philosophy behind this novel and the characters themselves are beyond amazing. This book became my inspiration to read more and more.

Meg Wolitzer is the New York Times bestselling author of The Interestings, The Uncoupling, The Ten-Year Nap, The Position, The Wife, and Sleepwalking. She is also the author of the young adult novel, Belzhar. Wolitzer lives in New York City.
