I am completely blown away by how wonderful and amazing this story is. Bodey was always such a light-hearted flirt in the previous books, it’s wonderful to see a deeper side to him. I loved that he’s more than just this womanizing adrenaline junkie. Bodey is loyal and dedicated to his family. He has respect for animals and people, in general. But under his cocky smile, Bodey struggles with finding fulfillment and happiness. That is, until he encounters a fiery little woman with enough attitude to see right through his flirty persona. Beth is a strong, protective heroine I admire greatly, and not just because we share the same name :) She is the sole guardian of her younger brother and sister and takes any job she can to help care for them. They have to stay under the radar because her siblings’ father is the crazy leader of a religious cult and wants them back into the fold. Beth has no time for a sweet talkin’ hunky cowboy with a smile full of sin. But slowly Bodey works his way under her skin and Beth is powerless against the explosive chemistry between them. After finishing this book, I am physically and emotionally exhausted. The author has broken and mended my heart throughout the whole story and I loved every minute of it. The character building is amazing. The storytelling is brilliant and the love story is so beautifully fragile, I couldn’t keep the tears in! MAVERICK is by far one of the best books I’ve ever read. Hands down. If you are looking for a contemporary romance full of heart, look no further.
