Read Sophie Stark for a book club. It was chosen for a lot of the acclaim it received and for the great reviews from readers. Not at all what I thought it would be and it has not left much of an impression, but it didn't take long to read and it became more interesting the further in I got. I think we all know of at least one person she may remind us of, or maybe that person is you. In essence, I think this story is about the mystery of human nature. Who doesn't like a good mystery?

A unique and realistic story told in the first person by Sophie's small circle of acquaintences. So well written. Portrays each character with integrity and charm.

Anna North is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and her writing has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Atlantic, Glimmer Train, Nautilus, and Salon; on Jezebel and BuzzFeed; and in the New York Times, where she is a staff editor. The author of America Pacifica, she lives in Brooklyn, New York.
