Summary
In the suburbs of Maryland, the firm of Hendley and Associates meanders its way through financial transactions—but its true purpose is to identify and locate terrorist threats, and then deal with them in whatever manner necessary. “The Campus” is always on the lookout for new talent, and its eye happens to light on President John Patrick Ryan’s son: Jack Ryan, Jr. While his father moved through the ranks of the CIA and into the Presidency, Jack Jr. received the benefit of years of life experience in special ops, intelligence analysis, and the way the world really works. Now, the Arab terrorist world and the Colombian drug cartels are about to unite forces, and Jack Jr. must put all he has been taught to good use—or else.

It was, as someone else said, a bridge from the old to the new. The new direction requires you to suspend reality a little too much of my taste.

A bit of a disappointment coming off Tom Clancy's "The Bear and The Dragon", but I think this was more meant to be a bridge-book to a post 9/11 era. Just don't let me down again Tommy C!

Terrible book, got half way through the book reluctantly and still boring and drawn out. Too many names for characters, hard to keep up. Can’t put myself through the next 1/2. Not fussed on the narrator either, dull as the book.

Teeth of the Tiger by Tom Clancy has the honor of being the absolute worst audio book that I have ever listened to. I don’t think the story was especially bad but the author’s characters had names that seemed to shift during the telling. My issue was almost entirely with the narrator. Firstly, he told the story as though he was speaking to children and nothing unsettling was happening. Good grief, it’s a thriller and there were assassinations. The narrator’s tone and cadence was inappropriate for the subject. Secondly, there was no differentiation in voice for any of the characters making it very difficult to follow the story. I’ve always enjoyed the work of Tom Clancy and will consider purchasing a copy of Teeth of the Tiger in paper and give it another chance. I do not recommend this book in audio format. The narrator, Stephen Hoye, was awful.

I loved the story. The back story of Jack Ryan Jr was enthralling! I will be a critic and say the person who narrated the book did a terrible job. His voice was flat and benign. He put me to sleep every time I would start listening. I could never tell who was talking unless it said “said Jack”. There was no change in flexion, it was just monotone. There were some characters that were from other countries and he did try to reflect that, but it was with a bad accent. I am listening to the 2nd book and the man reading the book is doing a fantastic job!!!!

Very, very good listen! Enjoyed this book from start to finish. The story was brilliant with superb narration. My first Tom Clancy audiobook, but certainly not my last.

OK story but not great. I don't know why there's such a need for vulgarity. Evidently appeals to some audience, but not to me. Wish there was a rating on books like there is on movies. Then I wouldn't have to waste my time on such writing.

Disappointing, lot of 'rambling' and at times difficult to determine 'who' was being referred to, suppose when the bar has been set so high in quality of content disappointment becomes inevitable ..........

This is a fast paced action filled story which is the trademark of Tom Clancy. This book has Jack Ryan Jr following in his fathers' foot steps.

I'm a long-time Clancy fan, and I read this book a few months ago. I kept picking it up thinking "It has to get better" but it never did. It was tedious and dull, painfully unbelievable, and the writing felt rushed and incomplete. I finally finished the book and sat there wondering two things: 1) why did I waste my time finishing it? and 2) where is the Tom Clancy of his glory days of writing?

Wow! Fast paced and a thriller from the beginning. The Caruso brothers are awesome as a team. They have great heroic attitudes. The detail regarding intelligence gathering and missions is remarkable. Happy to see the U S A is proactive. Love the descreptive scenes..felt like I was there!

I do not usually listen to abridged stories but this one worked. It was a little confusing at times as to who was speaking, but I found it pulled me back to listen to more.

I was bound and determined not to like this book, because I love Clancy's normal characters so much. No Jack Ryan Sr., no Ed & Pat, no John Clark. However, I enjoyed myself listening to this book, despite myself. I was annoyed, yet again, by the fact that it was abridged (abridged books should be banned). If Tom is truly passing the torch from Jack Ryan Sr, to his son and nephews.... this was a very good start.

I was really surprised that I could enjoy being read to... but while traveling to and from work and going to lunch each day I couldn't wait to get in my car... this story was so suspenseful and exciting from the time I pushed play.. it kept me wanting to drive more... The suspense was incredible and the characters alive and friends of mine... I will definately stay a member to keep up the imagination in my life... Thanks !!!!

Tom Clancy stories are predicable but they strike the nerve of what we are all thinking.

This was quite a let down. Although I enjoyed Clancy's early books, I haven't read him in quite a while. I kept waiting for the suspense, the action, the intrigue. When I finally reached the end, I was left with a "is that all there is?" feeling. I wouldn't recommend this one. Listen to some of his earlier works - skip this.

This is my very first audio book. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It took a little getting used to but I felt the reading was great and really got me into the story line. Can't wait for more Tom Clancy books.

Very disappointed. I love the Jack Ryan stories. This was just too UNBELIEVABLE and everything just went too perfect/smooth for the leading characters. Made me long for the old stuff.

Tom Clancy has the ability to write excellent books but not in this case. This book seemed to serve a purpose only to introduce new characters for upcoming books. It was rushed through, lacked details and the suspense was minimal if any. This book could have been great had he spent more time making it exciting and developing the characters in more detail. Unfortunately, to understand these future characters you will have to listen to this book.
