This book was wonderfully written! I enjoyed every minute of it& couldn’t put it down! I loved how the family got together & solved their issues & were there for each other & learned to let go of their daughter Robin after she wasn’t coming back from a heartache. I can’t wait to read your next book.

Two sisters with minor issues, a quiet brother with minor wife issues, a mother of all three who spends her time coaching, counseling, and challening the older sister in her running career. The older sister is a marathon runner and working with her mother;s guidance to the Olymucs when a heart attack while running ends her career and ultimately her life. She's on life support and the fractured family can't let her go Then there's a surprise that no one saw coming as an incident from the mother's past comes in to play. Mother/daughter issues, a well kept secret, an employee trying to take over the family business, and a father too good to be true all come in to play in this heart rending tear jerker.

While My Sister Sleeps is a moving and emotional story of loss, guilt, jealousy, relationships, family and finding oneself.
Molly and Robin Snow are sisters who are as different as night and day. They don’t share their feelings or emotions with one another. Robin is a champion runner who is so involved with her sport that she cannot think of anything or anyone else. Molly is involved in her own activities, planting, caring and working with her parents in their plant and flower business.
Their family is thrust into turmoil when Robin suffers a massive heart attack while running. They rush to her bedside after she is admitted and rescued by a Good Samaritan who performed CPR on her and brought her back.
Secrets are uncovered as they wait to hear the results of EEG for brain activity. They must come to a difficult decision about Robin’s life - end it or keep her on machines for an undetermined time. The secrets that Molly uncovers while they wait are discovered in Robin’s closet - the story of Robin’s life on a CD.
Molly reads it and shares it with her mother who must come to terms with the realization of what her daughter wrote and share her own secrets in order to handle what will come next.
This is a story full of angst, feelings of doubt, sorrow, heartache and learning to cope with the inevitable loss of a daughter, sister, no matter what age. The author created a story that will tear at your heartstrings and leave you weeping but also with some hope that even in loss there is some redemption for others and a way to go on.

Really made it feel like it was happening to a family member, I felt just like I was going through all the pain and helplessness that the family was feeling. Really enjoyed the story and how it brings the message of how fast tragedy can hit and how everyone handles it differently and how you need to come together through Love and Kindness to work through it all.

Always like Barbara Delinsky books. This didn’t have a lot of depth but her characters were very likable and it was a quick read

5 star ratings are rare for me, but this story was so well written with such depth in each character. Each family member was affected differently and yet all were connected deeply. Some twists and turns that kept it interesting. Won’t give too much away, but be ready to be deeply moved.

I like Barbara Delinsky as an author and already own several of her books, but while my sister sleeps was okay it didn't have the same Delinsky feel about it as her other books do. I have read it twice but wont bother reading it again, where as the Summer I dared is something I read frequently.

This is a story about a family coming to terms with the likely death of Robin, the eldest daughter and an accomplished runner, who had a heart attack while running and dropped into a deep coma. I lived several aspects of this story, as 30 years ago my father had a massive stroke and was declared to be in a vegetative state. The author covers the family's ever-changing emotions with depth and honesty. I won't give away the various plot twists except to say I wanted one more chapter to bring a better conclusion to the budding romance between Molly, the youngest sister and primary character in the book, and David, the teacher and Good Samaritan who found Robin after her heart attack and gave her CPR. I don't normally take the time to review books, but this one is deserving of my time.

Another good book from this author. I have not read it yet, but keeping it for a rainy day. I like to have books ahead, so when I am ready to read I will have them. Once I start I don't stop. But no doubt this will be good. You don't go wrong with this author.
