Summary
In this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling series, Manhattan cop-turned-lawyer Stone Barrington is back on his home turf caught between a filthy rich conman and a beautiful prosecutor...

Not long after Stone and his ex-partner Dino make the acquaintance of Billy Bob—a smooth-talkin’ Texan packing a wad of rare two-dollar bills—someone takes a shot at them. Against his better judgment, Stone offers Billy Bob a safe haven for the night but almost immediately regrets it. The slippery out-of-towner has gone missing and someone has been found dead—in Stone’s town house no less. Now, Stone is now stuck between a stunning federal prosecutor and a love from his past, a con man with more aliases than hairs on his head, and a murder investigation that could ruin them all.

I cannot agree with others who have reviewed this book. I found it amateurish and I couldn't finish it as it was silly and boring. Perhaps I just didn't care for the writing style of the author.

Stuart Woods Stone Barrington novels are excellent stories. I have not read one that I didn't like. They keep you wondering what is going to happen next.

Great Book!! This is the first of this series that I have read. I like it a great deal with the variety of characters and the exciting story line. The intensity of the story did not falter and kept me listening to the end. The Billy Bob character was really something else, he is not at all what he appears, ever. A great read if you like mysteries.

If you like Stuart Woods, you will enjoy this cd. Great "male" fiction with plenty of testosterone to spare. Narration is also excellent.

Another great story for Stone, with Dino not far behind. He has managed to yet again to pulled into another murder, except this time all the focus is on him. You never can tell what is really going to happen, which makes it better. And yes, Arrington is back and the question left to answer is undeniable...

Another excellent Stuart Woods book. Classic Stone Barrington. Have yet to find one of this author's books I have disliked.
