Summary
With her trademark effervescence, Goldie delivers a personal look at private and powerful events that carried her through life: her father’s spontaneity; her mother’s courage; and the joy of being a daughter, a sister, a parent, and a lover. She writes about her childhood dreams of becoming a ballerina. She takes us on a tour of her go-go years in 1960s New York City, the phenomenon of TV’s Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, her Oscar-winning debut in Cactus Flower and Hollywood stardom. She writes intimately about the challenges of love, anger and fear, and the importance of compassion and integrity. She speaks openly about her family, her partner Kurt Russell, her children; her faith, her curiosity for that which she doesn’t yet know, and her thirst for knowledge. Most of all, it is a trip back through a life well lived by a woman well loved.

I really love hearing her story told in her voice. Great to get the background on her actor children and her long unmarried life with Kurt R. Looking back on her life she was truly a blessed woman. I even learned insights from her!

I absolutely loved this book. I am a big Goldie fan, and the fact that she read it made it doubly good. She is not the blond air head that everyone thought she was. She is quite a spiritual, psychological, thinking kind of person.

I laughed. I cried. I contemplated life. I thought this was a wonderful book. Honest and entertaining. Joyful and sad. It was like stepping into Goldie Hawn's life and living her episodes with her. I've always thought she was a lovely person, and now I know that is really true. Those who are fortunate enough to call her a friend are incredibly lucky. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

If you're looking for jucy hollywod gossip, look elsewhere. This was a delightful telling of growth from a bright, funny and endearing hollywood lady who's presence just makes you smile. Here is the everyday person, not the hollywood glitz. It is refreshing to know that real love & family values still work. The emotion in her narration painted pictures in my mind. As I listened I could see each character as the scene played out. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. Thoroughly enjoyable.
