About this audiobook

God and the Gay Christian is a game changer. Winsome, accessible, and carefully researched, every page is brought to life by the author’s clear love for Scripture and deep, persistent faith. With this book, Matthew Vines emerges as one of my generation’s most important Christian leaders, not only on matters of sexuality but also on what it means to follow Jesus with wisdom, humility, and grace.  Prepare to be challenged and enlightened, provoked and inspired. Read with an open heart and mind, and you are bound to be changed.”
— Rachel Held Evans, author of A Year of Biblical Womanhood and Faith Unraveled

As a young Christian man, Matthew Vines harbored the same basic hopes of most young people: to someday share his life with someone, to build a family of his own, to give and receive love. But when he realized he was gay, those hopes were called into question. The Bible, he’d been taught, condemned gay relationships.

Feeling the tension between his understanding of the Bible and the reality of his same-sex orientation, Vines devoted years of intensive research into what the Bible says about homosexuality. With care and precision, Vines asked questions such as:

• Do biblical teachings on the marriage covenant preclude same-sex marriage or not?
• How should we apply the teachings of Jesus to the gay debate?
• What does the story of Sodom and Gomorrah really say about human relationships?
• Can celibacy be a calling when it is mandated, not chosen?
• What did Paul have in mind when he warned against same-sex relations?

Unique in its affirmation of both an orthodox faith and sexual diversity, God and the Gay Christian is likely to spark heated debate, sincere soul searching, even widespread cultural change. Not only is it a compelling interpretation of key biblical texts about same-sex relations, it is also the story of a young man navigating relationships with his family, his hometown church, and the Christian church at large as he expresses what it means to be a faithful gay Christian.

This book is an incredibly well written testimony that being gay and being Christian can coexist while remaining faithful to Scripture. That the real humans, gay people, whom the church has callously and arrogantly targeted, has full access to God's Kingdom and the beautiful covenant of marriage.

it must be God is correcting you and rebuking you( the author) but if you have to conince yourself and chose to compromise yourself because of the factor probly 'the modern world' we live in.with all due respect, i say, perverted understanding and reasoning. you are dealing with acceptance. God is Holy, He hates sin (satans' deception). your studies have had you misunderstand or ignorance (aware of Gods will but choose to ignore)God's nature and He's being. you say 'faithful' gay christian, i think your gospel(salvation you receive is perverted.your making Gods word compromising the world. He is Holy, he hates sin the deception of satan our disobedience our misconception about him our unbelief our unholy life and recognize His Holiness and our state infront of God because we can only be changed until we heard Him speak to us that is experiencing His revelation of His Being and of who really you are (in His sight) and of His Promise life-changing where faith begins .where you really rreally trust that your life came from Him He is your Creator it is clear in the Boble that He create Male and Female, that He hates sin you do what He designs to be.,that He'll change you through the His Word thats i believe thats the way He reveals His will commandments and promises with his people nothing more. John 3:15-18 Leviticus Romans 10:17

Let's cut straight to the bone hell is real there are millions if not billions of gay people screaming on top of their lungs in unspeakable terror of fear engulfed with fire and brimstone right in the heart of the earth. Sexual perversion is sin God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to serve as a strong warning to those who practice this disgusting behaviour. Jesus warned His people about how the world would look like prior to His return as in Noah and Lot's days. Gay people are a reminder of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and He is right at the door. There is no such thing as gay christian don't be deceived the devil is the father of all lies and confusion. I would recommend anyone to watch youtube video of Mario Martinez explaining what he saw when the Lord took him to hell including gay people burning Bill Wiese's 23 minutes in hell is exceptional watch it pls
