About this ebook

A manifesto from one of America's most influential activists which disrupts political, economic, and social norms by reimagining the Black Radical Tradition.

Drawing on Black intellectual and grassroots organizing traditions, including the Haitian Revolution, the US civil rights movement, and LGBTQ rights and feminist movements, Unapologetic challenges all of us engaged in the social justice struggle to make the movement for Black liberation more radical, more queer, and more feminist. This book provides a vision for how social justice movements can become sharper and more effective through principled struggle, healing justice, and leadership development. It also offers a flexible model of what deeply effective organizing can be, anchored in the Chicago model of activism, which features long-term commitment, cultural sensitivity, creative strategizing, and multiple cross-group alliances. And Unapologetic provides a clear framework for activists committed to building transformative power, encouraging young people to see themselves as visionaries and leaders.

Books like these are undoing the very difficult [to acheive] and very real progress that America has made. Today, people are being told that if they're black they can't even obtain an ID. People are telling women that men still own everything -they just need a dress and pumps. This ideology has no place in a civilized, progressive society.

Black liberation? What time are you living in? Holy hell I have no seen a more dilluted view. First off, the US civil right movement wasn't radical. Martin luther king and previous black leader's of the time knew that being radical wouldn't solve the problem it'd create more. That is why to this day Martin Luther King is a Saint and a hero, and will remain one for the rest of time. But more to your terribly ill informed opinions. You're from Chicago one of the most violent and crime infested cities in the WORLD. Chicago has a higher daily death rate and shooting rate then some countries in an actual war. Stop adding fuel to that very fire by being radical. A leader is a person who shows courage, restraint, dedication, wisdom, and most importantly understanding. You, you do not understand yet or show restraint. But you will get there with time. Focus more on the goods in your community instead of all this radical head in the sky thinking, and really. You should be apologetic.
