I've read every (readily available) translation of The Art of War - This one is the most 'useful', for want of a better word. Many translations sound arrogant or egotistical, like you're a genius looking down at the bumbling idiots who are trying to give you trouble, but this one reads more like a list of lessons learnt from past mistakes. Even if you prefer a different translation, this is worth a read.

Great book! Explains the art of war perfectly! It taught me a whole different way of thinking?

The Denma Translation Group is led by Kidder Smith and James Gimian. Smith directs the Asian Studies Department at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Gimian is publisher of the Shambhala Sun magazine and a publishing consultant. The other members of the group have worked professionally in the writing, editing, and publishing fields.
