May is so excited to be going on her first family vacation to Florida. Everything is new and exciting: sleeping in a motel, buying postcards, playing miniature golf, and going sightseeing. Things would be perfect if her big brother Ricky wasn’t always turning everything into a contest – and worse, always winning. When May meets Ricky’s challenge to a “double dare,” he gains a new appreciation of his little sister, and the two have a much better vacation.

About the Author
Dayal Kaur Khalsa both wrote and illustrated picture books that celebrate the joys in life: the love between grandparents and grandchildren, the togetherness of a family holiday, the ingenuity of a girl who wants a dog, the thrill of discovering a new and delicious food. Her books have won numerous awards, including being chosen twice for the New York Times Best Illustrated Books of the Year, and twice as a finalist for the Governor Generals Literary Award. Dayal Kaur Khalsa died in 1989.
