Adderall and Ritalin are both medications that stimulate the nervous system and increase certain neurotransmitters in the brain such as Dopamine and norepinephrine, ritalin has been around since the 70's and adderall came out in 1994.... Antidepressant meds increase the neurotransmitter Serotonin in the brain and stronger antidepressants such as SNRI =Serotonin, norepinephrine, reuptake inhibitor medication such as Effexor work when SSRI= SELECTIVE SEROTONIN REUPTAKE INHIBITORS MEDS SUCH
