Great Story, Even Better Narrator
Dean Koontz has written many books since Star Quest (1968) and many have come to expect a certain style of narrative that only he can deliver with his experience in tailoring suspenseful tales. Dragon Tears (1993) is a fast-paced tale from Koontz in his prime. Perspective changes are smooth, structuring is simple, yet engaging. The characters are relatively grounded and the villain is as twisted as always in these novels. By far the highlight of this audiobook version is the welcoming and talented voice of Jay O. Sanders. He elegantly brings the story and it’s characters to life in the readers mind with the guide of Dean Koontz’s signature prose. Although this isn’t the best of Dean Koontz tales, it’s easily a 9/10 and a must read for fans of his books. Five Stars for Jay O. Sanders’ performance.
