About this ebook

A warrior with inner demons falls for a woman who could save his soul in this seductive novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Within the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Rhage is the warrior vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the deadliest fighter, the most voracious lover, the quickest to act on his impulses. He’s also been cursed with two hundred years of hell. Possessed by a beast, he lives in fear of the times when his inner dragon comes out and he’s a danger to everyone around him.

Mary Luce has unwittingly found herself in the vampire world, and under Rhage’s protection. With her own life-threatening curse to bear, she’s not looking for love. Besides, she’s stopped believing in saving grace and miracles long ago. But when Rhage’s intense sexual attraction turns into emotional bonding, he knows he must have her for his mate. As their enemies close in, Mary finds herself praying for something she fears she’ll never have: life eternal with the one she loves.

The second book nto the Brotherhood is about Rhage. He is a vampire with a split personality. He was cursed by the "God" and creator of the race the Scribe Virgin because when he was a young vampire he let one of his lady friend play with a dagger of his and she ended up killing a barn owl and the Scribe Virgin find he birds are sacred cratures and she then curses Rhage with a Beast that comes out when he loses control. Well a human woman named Mary, who finds out she is dying of cancer, finds a young man by the name of John who is a mute and helps him figure out who or what he is. Little does she know he is a reincarntion of the brotherhoos lost brother Darrius. Mary neighbor who is a female vampire Bella know what John is and get a hold of the brotherhood and this gets Mary involved in the vampire race. When they are taken to the compound to talk to Tohrment, the leader of the brotherhoods fighters, Mary finds herself in a place that huge hunky men are all around her. While Tohrment is talking to John she leaves the area because she get uncomfortable and walks out into the hallway and this is where Rhage finds her and he becomes obsessed with the human, going against all the rules of the brotherhood he has to mkae her his. I loved this book and the way Mary puts Rhage in his place. Rhage has never met a woman that can ignore his charms and swagger but Mary looks at it like she is dying and does not want this hollywood actor looking man to fall in love with her because she will not walk the Earth too much longer. Rhage is tested beyond belief with this human and knowing she is dying.

Ward had me captivated from the beginning of this novel. The mix of suspense, action, romance, and everyday life was fantastic. I appreciated the interconnectedness of the separate aspects of the story. I enjoyed how the characters are telling us this story, rather than an external, third person narrator. It made me feel as if I were really there rather than just reading about it. Ward’s descriptions paint this world in a vivid yet dark fashion, yet you can easily see the light shining through. Ward tops this story off with a fantastic cast of characters. Butch’s descriptions of the Brothers were priceless. You get to know them inside and out, in a very personal, bromance sort of way. I love the slang in the dialogue. Ward easily shows how the characters have adapted to the modern day, yet at the same time the odd slip into a past reminds readers just how old these vampires are. Ward has also come up with some great vampire names. They embody the characters’’ personalities while also being really cool names. The mix of vampires and humans, the old world and the new, was superb. I laughed & I cried, all the while caught up in the forward momentum of these character

comes an even better review. Like I've said before, even though each Brother has his own book, the other Brothers are still a part of it, keeping their stories alive. One of the things I love most about the author is she isn't afraid to include a different spin on what beautiful and sexy can mean. The BDB is one of the best series I've ever read, and that's putting it lightly. Get to ordering, people. It won't disappoint, I promise you.
