Publisher Description
A new collection to coincide with the upcoming major motion picture starring Robert Downey, Jr., and Jude Law, Sherlock Holmes
This gripping collection includes many of the famous cases-and great strokes of brilliance-that made the legendary Sherlock Holmes one of fiction's most popular creations. With his devoted secretary, Dr. Watson, Holmes emerges from his smoke-filled rooms on Baker Street to grapple with the forces of treachery, intrigue, and evil in such cases as "The Speckled Band," in which a terrified woman begs Holmes and Watson's help in solving the mystery surrounding her sister's death, and "A Scandal in Bohemia," which portrays a European king blackmailed by his mistress. A spine-tingling treat for anyone who loves a classic whodunit, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes shows the inimitable detective at his best.

Do not buy
Do not give Penguin Group money for something they do not own. The works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are out of copyright and currently in the public domain. Just click "Author Page" above and download one of the many free versions. Shame on Apple for promoting them and shame on Penguin Group for trying to gouge consumers. $11.99 is bad enough for an eBook...but for an eBook you don't own?!? Shame on you. I'm looking forward to the day that all authors self publish and cut out these greedy publishers. Your days are numbered.
I agree
I agree. Also, it's just a scam considering iBooks has The Complete Collection of Sherlock Holmes for 2.99. That has everything from Watson meeting Sherlock, to Sherlock's final case. I can understand buying that one, since it's all put together nicely and in order of stories. That's kind worth the 3 bucks. However, it's such a scam to buy it for anything else. You guys are paying 11 bucks for the book art cover here.
