Still one of the best
I’m a big fan of NR, have read most of her work, but this early novel has it all - great characters (even the minor ones), good plot, great banter, atmosphere, fascinating look behind the art of magic and illusion, even an early version of Roark! Much better than a lot of her later novels. Read (or read-read) it!

Absolutely intriguing story, beautifully done, and such an enjoyable read beginning to end.

This book made me read every other book Nora Roberts wrote along with her as J.D Robb. I loved every book I read. I continue to wait for the newest one to come out. I tell all my friends to read them as we'll. I just love her.
