Sandford owns the 'Crime/Thriller' genre, and has a prose that is up there with fiction novel legends, John Grissom, and James Patterson. Havent looked much at the VF series, but halfway through tbe Prey series, and I cant get enough. I actually read Field of Prey first on a whim having been unfamiliar with Sandford up until that time, and was blown away. I immediately sought the books in order. I enjoy the 2nd edition paperbacks with the new introductions. Its neat to watch Davenport grow over the years.

Another fantastic read by John Sandford! As always lots of action and good, believable characters. I've been reading the Prey series for years, but the Virgil Flowers books are every bit as good! If you haven't already discovered these books you need to give them a read. A great twist on the Lucas Davenport books! I couldn't put it down!

About the author
John Sandford is the pseudonym for the Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist John Camp. He is the author of twenty-six Prey novels (most recently Extreme Prey); four Kidd novels; eight Virgil Flowers novels; two YA novels coauthored with his wife, Michele Cook; and three other books, including Saturn Run. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
