It is a strange experience to read a book where women are afforded all the privileges of men and men are allowed, and expected to be, soft and nurturing. It isn't a utopia by any means, but it's an interesting mental break from a world where the opposite gender roles wreak all kinds of havoc. Also it's an adorable love story and the only poly love story I've read that didn't manage to make it super creepy or depressing.

I genuinely liked this book. The world seemed fleshed out and the characters likable. I was entertained. Some parts were a bit wishy washy, but.... overall a good read. I would like to see another book or two in this setting.

Something is different. Few male children are born, so how does this change society? Spencer explores this world in a fascinating novel. Great characters travel through a word that seems odd to us. Plot is not the most important part of the book. It depends on characters and scene. It is enough to create a wonderful book.
