Publisher Description
Want to get more out of your workout and spend less time in the gym? Many guys devote so many hours to lifting weight yet end up with so little to show for it. In many cases the problem is simple: they aren't doing exercises based on the movements their bodies were designed to do. Six basic movements - the squat, deadlift, lunge, push, pull and twist - use all of the body's major muscles. And, more important, they use those muscles in co-ordinated action, the way they were designed to work. The New Rules of Lifting, now in paperback and with more than one hundred photographs, gives you more than a year's worth of workouts based on these six basic movements. Whether you're a beginner, an experienced lifter looking for new challenges, or anything in between, you can mix and match the workouts to help you get bigger, stronger and leaner. In addition, the comprehensive nutritional information provided makes The New Rules of Lifting a complete guide to reaching all your goals. If you aren't using The New Rules of Lifting, you aren't getting the best possible results.

Finally someone gets it right
I've been lifting for 21 years. I've tried lots of different plans. I eventually came up with my own workout because I wasn't getting what I was looking for. Still wasn't all that I wanted but it was definitely better than what I was reading.
Turns out I had a ton of lifting myths... not supported by research... floating about in my head. It amazes me how many 'old rules' are just plain nonsense.
This book is about dropping the nonsense and arming yourself with the latest research. I've been using this book for a couple of years and I'm very happy with the results that I get. I actually bought a copy of the book for women for my wife.
Headings cut off
Please fix the formatting problem. Many of the headings (section titles) are justified too far to the left. I noticed this in the sample I downloaded, so went ahead and bought the Kindle book instead. It's a good book, but I wouldn't buy it from iBooks until formatting issues are fixed.
Heading are cut off
Just started reading the book. The headings look to be justified farther left than can be displayed, cutting off the first several letters. Frustrating.
My low score isn't based on content. I have to finish reading the book first.
