About this ebook

The #1 New York Times bestseller by Senator Al Franken, author of Giant of the Senate

Al Franken, one of our “savviest satirists” (People), has been studying the rhetoric of the Right. He has listened to their cries of “slander,” “bias,” and even “treason.” He has examined the GOP's policies of squandering our surplus, ravaging the environment, and alienating the rest of the world. He’s even watched Fox News. A lot.

And, in this fair and balanced report, Al bravely and candidly exposes them all for what they are: liars. Lying, lying liars. Al destroys the liberal media bias myth by doing what his targets seem incapable of: getting his facts straight. Using the Right’s own words against them, he takes on the pundits, the politicians, and the issues, in the most talked about book of the year.

Timely, provocative, unfailingly honest, and always funny, Lies sticks it to the most right-wing administration in memory, and to the right-wing media hacks who do its bidding.

What a sewer DC is. After slandering GOP when he wrote this wonder if Al ever dreamed he would be run out of town by his own party led by Gillibrand (the flipper d'jour) Ironic only Fox News stood up for Al because of the rule of law, innocent until proven guilty. Al you might give a it of thought when you play the 'who's the biggest liar' game. democrat party isnt a beacon of truth, but Congress as a whole has failed to do their job. But they are well paid all talk & no legislation ....dont think founding father put the pay me for nothing in job desription. Wonder is gillibrand & the rest of blood thirsty jackals are on Als Christmas list? i may not agree with most of what Al says but think he got a raw deal 14 yrs after writing this. Karma, indeed

The author pulls no punches, but has done his research. In many ways, Al Franken codified this satirical-yet-completely-credible non-fiction book.

Along with two other titles by Franken I own (the hardcover originals, then eBooks as well), this is a book I have read several times -- I laugh as much on the 7th reading as the first, and my appreciation for Franken's obsession with the truth (and viciously funny shaming of those who lie) only deepens over time. This isn't a book that falls into the categories of preaching to the left or attacking the right: it is for anyone who values honesty & can smile at sometimes-serious subject matter
