About this ebook

The first Priscilla Hutchins novel from Jack McDevitt, hailed by Stephen King as “the logical heir to Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke.”

Humans call them the Monument-Makers. An unknown race, they left stunning alien statues on distant planets in the galaxy. Each relic is different. Each inscription defies translation. Yet all are heartbreakingly beautiful.

And for planet Earth, on the brink of disaster, they may hold the only key to survival for the entire human race.

I agree, it could only be that which is greater than the physical realm. Having read all the Pilot Chase books I looked forward to a different set of stories. What was similar was nice to see and recall. What was new and different was what made these characters unique and stood apart from the other set of novels.war Great character, planet, and Cosmic building to make this interesting and gripping to read. Three stories overlap which kept my interest. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I like the ambitious scope of the book. It is swashbuckling but in a thoughtful way. Sometimes this slows the pace more than I would have liked, but overall a good read introducing lots of possibilities

I read this about 5 years ago and it still remains one of my favorite books. I picked this up along with a few other scifi reads completely at random for a used book store. I had no idea the gem I uncovered. I'd love to read the rest of the series if I ever had the time. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good scifi read.
