This books was brilliantly written. I never expected the twist that Jill died at Court, got healed and as a result, became spirit bound to Adrian. Never would have expected it! Also, I love how Sydney chose to help Adrian even though he was stuffing everything up, and that she had the dignity to tell him how to start living life to the full again instead of yelling at him like Rose (even though I love her). The romantic scenes were beautifully created, especially those between Sydney and Adrian (obviously) and Jill and Eddie. Never would have expected that either. Overall, I loved this book, particularly the ending. I do confess I did curse Dimitri briefly before excusing him for walking in Adrian's life again. After all, he's Dimitri... But, in terms of Bloodlines, it's a well thought out, enjoyable start to a to-be amazing series! :D

I like the book but everything about it is too obvious. You'd have to be an idiot to not notice the synchronicities and not so subtly hints far before any formal "revelation." Jill's "need" for adrian, her night terrors, being hungover, trey's sun tattoo and clarence saying how vampire hunters worshiped the sun. The tattoos all of it! It was like... like trying to ignore an elephant in a room!

I loved the "Vampire Academy" series because of the mixture between action and drama. There was never a dull moment. In the "Bloodlines" series I can tell that there will be that same mixture with a twist of mysteriousness. I have only read the first book, but I am excited to embark on this journey. I anticipate that the series will be about the main characters' journey of finding her place in her world. My relation to that is what makes my excitement grow larger.
