The Alex Bannister series is generally excellent and this latest is a much better entry than the previous book. I've learned to live with McDevitt's insistence on having a random event play a major role in all of his novels, and in fact it was amusing to guess where that would show up here. But the main thing is that the series has an internal consistency and I look forward to the next mystery Alex and Chase look into.

The story is interesting but the ending is a bit shallow and open. Not at all a bad read, but I was expecting a bit more.
