A truly sad story about the indecency of the treatment of SOME children at the hands of people who are supposed to love and protect them. That being said, this story also speaks of empathy and caring of those victims, by people who didn't know them at all... getting justice for them. Eve Dallas always stands for her victims because they matter to her. Her journey of discovering that she matters to her people is, as always, very heartfelt. JD has a way with words that make me understand more of this in my life. Suzie

This book was as good as the rest but had a soft side to Dallas that you know is there but never seen. So much of today's truth that you hope in the future won't have to happen but it still continues. Another great book and on to the next --- not enough of then written to keep me satisfied!!!

Eve is pulled into a case when Roarke Is Building a Center for troubled, and Disenfranchised youths . it pulls you in to the deception , and hope that What they are building , will do for other children.
