About this ebook

At a benefit dinner, community activist Maria Cervantes overhears two men plotting a terrorist attack that could rock Miami to its core. But before she can alert authorities, she’s almost killed in a massive explosion—and wakes up in a hospital with no memory of what happened. As the sole survivor of the attack, she is now a person of interest to the NSA—and especially to Agent Cade O’Reilly. Because Maria is the one woman Cade has never been able to forget.

Years ago, they were closer than either was willing to admit—until Cade disappeared when Maria needed him most. Now he’s sticking by her, whether she likes it or not. Because the memories locked inside her mind could hold vital clues to the next attack. Because terrorists want her dead—and because he never wants to let her go again.

I decided to give this audiobook a chance, since I have enjoyed other stories written by Ms Reus. As expected, this one did not disappoint me. Once again, Ms Reus gives us a riveting story that will engage you from page one till the end. Our main characters are Maria Cervantes and Cade O’Reilly. At one time , they had been very close. Cade was Maria’s brother best friend and also a friend to her. While her brother and Cade were away serving our country, Maria and Cade corresponded and their friendship intensified. But life can be cruel and when Maria’s brother dies in combat , Cade blames himself and disappears . Now an NSA agent, he comes to her when an explosion kills innocent people at a benefit dinner, including Maria’s Mother and injuring Maria . She has no memory of the explosion and doesn’t realize she has incriminating informationdd hidden in her memory loss. Cade demands to be put on her detail since he feels no one can protect her as well as he can. That stirs up old feelings on both of them. Even as the danger and feelings intensify, Cade will do anything to protect her but convinces himself they have no future once she knows his secrets and his hand in her brother’s death. Definitely a story filled with suspense, bad guys, a strong independent woman with a big heart, a scarred , dedicated and strong alpha protector, render moments, and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Another winner from this very talented author. I also want to add that the narrator did an excellent job in depicting each character. I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

There's no way you can go wrong with Katie Reus. Her books and her characters are the best. You feel for Maria and Cade. Their relationship is believable, their journey is one with several complexities that even includes villains you can't help but feel for. The love journey is filled with ups and downs and no matter where you enter in this installment Katie keeps you right up with where they stand. Trilling romance, heat, and suspense~ Katie is a genius that is completely in her element.
