The description says that this is just a small snippet of June & Day's life before the first book picked up. I would venture to say she most likely had a request for more background information and this was her answer. Not much too exciting here. Not to say the end of the trilogy was not amazing, just the opposite in fact, but after finishing the trilogy, I was wanting more. So here we are.

I will admit, "Legend" gave me high expectations. It was that subtlety of politics in the destroyed-but-refusing-to-acknowledge-it new world that drew me and June and Day's intriguing relationship that kept me and honestly, none of that was really there in this novella. It was flat, and other than some sweet Metias/June moments (Because who doesn't like Metias? Seriously.) I could not get into it. Day was just...meh. Not much of that cockiness or bravery or flirtatious attitude. And June? Well, it doesn't seem like 12 yr old June by 15 yr old June. SHE'S. ALMOST. THE. EXACT. SAME. Not much adolescence that we can relate to. Seriously? This is from Marie Lu? No. This did not meet any expectations I had for it, high or otherwise. Anyway, read at your risk, but know that it doesn't live up to anything.

This books is one of the best. It has an amazing story between Day and June. I love it and that is saying something because I hate reading but this book made me want to read more.
