Didn't like the female character going in, and nothing in this installment changed that. Huge fan of this author and the Elder series, but Aryal has been a ruthless b*tch in her every appearance and I do not enjoy people with that temperament, be it Fiction or IRL. Usually I finish these novels in 2-3 days. I've had this book for weeks, and I do not have any inclination to finish. I regret buying this book.

Honestly I'd rather read about Aryal than Pia. I love Aryal and her story. it was what I expected of her, especially the whipping scene. There's only one problem, I thought the book lacked something. I don't know, maybe I expected Quentin to woo her somehow. I don't know! All in all, it was wonderful.
