Publisher Description
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author…“Remember Getting to Happy, Waiting to Exhale, and How Stella Got Her Groove Back? Well, you won’t likely forget Terry McMillan’s Who Asked You? either” (Raleigh News & Observer).
Betty Jean already has her hands full when her grown daughter leaves her two young sons in her care. In between dealing with her other adult children, two opinionated sisters, an ill husband, and her own postponed dreams—BJ still manages to hold down a job delivering room service at a hotel.
Her son Dexter is about to be paroled from prison; Quentin, the family success, can’t be bothered to lend a hand; and taking care of two lively grandsons is the last thing BJ thinks she needs. But who asked her?
Customer Reviews
Relative and memorable!
Although typical it’s reality, so familiar and a reminder to not fear change, breaking the cycle is the goal. Thank you Terry McMillan for always delivering.
Still Exhaling
From start to finish this novel is truly a wonderful work of artistic genius. Each character holding his or her own family dynamics from start to finish; even as they grew into the person they were meant to be. This author never disappoints when writing out the ups and downs of family dynamics and leaving a message inspiring change.
There’s so many spin offs of characters that pull you in to each of their stories. Powerful imagery sparkling interesting for the next book in a series of how it continues, even with a beautiful stand alone ending. With each richer and poorer painful mistakes and mid understanding and overall second chances always wait to exhale.
Author’s words and narrators pairing so brilliant to make this audible one of the best I’ve purchased this year. Truly a fantastic read BT
