About this ebook

"I recommend this book highly to everyone." --Deepak Chopra, M.D.

This special updated version of the New York Times-bestseller, Kitchen Table Wisdom, addresses the same spiritual issues that made the original a bestseller: suffering, meaning, love, faith, and miracles.

"Despite the awesome powers of technology, many of us still do not live very well," says Dr. Rachel Remen. "We may need to listen to one another's stories again." Dr. Remen, whose unique perspective on healing comes from her background as a physician, a professor of medicine, a therapist, and a long-term survivor of chronic illness, invites us to listen from the soul.

This remarkable collection of true stories draws on the concept of "kitchen table wisdom"-- the human tradition of shared experience that shows us life in all its power and mystery and reminds us that the things we cannot measure may be the things that ultimately sustain and enrich our lives.

I read this book in a Hospital Rehabilitation Program again recovering from the addiction of Alcohol! I was sober for 17+years and fell down and fell down really hard! I'm recovering now but it is an every day struggle to fight the demons of a very HEREDITARY DISEASE and nobody should tell anyone less. I have 5 grown daughters and 2 who struggle with their own addictions including depression and anxiety. This book really opened up my mind, heart and soul. I'm going to get her other books and ones she recommends. I lent to 1 daughter and she will pass it along to her sister when she is finished with it. I just gave it to her and it won't be long before she passes it as she can't put it down. Dr. Rachel Remen talks about her own illnesses and struggles while taking care of her patients and her family. It is the most inspiring book and it really makes you look at the other side of people. YOUR NOT ALONE, many in the book they REALLY INSPIRED ME TO LIVE, LOVE AND ENJOY LIFE!
