About this ebook

Second chances are sweeter than ever in Charlotte Stein’s steamy Dark Obsession series—perfect for fans of Katy Evans—as a self-reliant college girl falls for a reformed bully who’s desperate to make up for lost time.

Letty Carmichael can’t believe her eyes when she catches a glimpse of her high school tormenter, wrestling champ Tate Sullivan, on campus. College was supposed to be her escape from Tate’s constant ridicule. Now he’s in her classes again, just waiting for his chance to make her life hell. But when Letty and Tate are partnered up for an assignment—on sex in cinema, of all things—she starts to see a kinder, gentler side of him. And when she realizes Tate knows more about sex than she could ever guess at, he soon starts making her blush in a whole new way.

Tate Sullivan is haunted by regret over his cruelty toward Letty. So when she agrees to work with him, he seizes his chance to make amends. He can’t blame her for not believing he’s for real, but soon Tate starts to break down her wall. She wants to know about passion, desire, lust—topics he is well versed in. And in return she offers the one thing he always wanted: the chance to be more than just a jock.

Letty is shocked by how sensitive Tate can be. Still, desiring him feels ludicrous. Loving him is impossible. Craving him is beyond all reason. So why can’t she stop?

The prologue will pull you in right away. The premise is all through high school, Letty was bullied by Tate and his friends. It was so bad they caused a serious physical injury, which kept Letty from attending college for two years. She spent all that time recuperating. When she finally makes it to college, who does she run into; Tate. Naturally she is shocked. She begins to panic and runs away. All she can think about is will the bulling start again? Is he going to make her life a living hell again? Tate assures Letty he won’t and that he will stay away from her. He hates how he treated Letty in high school. He is trying to be a better man. But as you know though, best laid plans do not always work. Letty and Tate are paired up together for a project, Sex in cinema, for their movie class. So they find themselves spending a lot of time together. And of course watching those sexy movies for their research, the tension between the two starts to build. But Letty doesn’t know if she can trust Tate. But he has changed. He is sweet, kind, little bit insecure and vulnerable. Their romance built over time. It wasn’t one of those where they fall into bed and had sex right away. It doesn’t mean they didn’t mess around though and it was very descriptive. Their feelings for each other grow over time. Each had to learn to trust the others, especially Letty. While this was a good book, to me the change in Tate seemed a little unrealistic. I couldn’t correlate how/what he did in high school to the man you now see. It just seemed like there was something missing in the story. I didn’t feel like there was a final closure because there was no epilogue. However I do like the writing style of this author. The story flowed along easily.

Great book. Hadn't seen this storyline before. Really enjoyed the quick-fire bantering between the two protagonists. And hot, hot scenes. Bitter and sweet. And funny as can be. Been a while since I read a book I laughed out loud to. One of my all time favs. Top 10.

The title states it all, this book was so super sweet, and frightening, all at the same time. Barely into the book, I knew my heart was going to break for Letty, and when it did, the crack, I'm sure, was audible What makes a bully a bully? What does he think while doing it? Does he ever consider why and his effect? Tate makes you wonder all these things, and it is until the very end before you realize why he says, does, and acts the way he does. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time Letty is just trying to get through life, to move beyond the scars left on her soul, and her body, from her bullied existence. She doesn't have any self-confidence, and assumes everyone is out to get her. Despite all this, she is a warm person, if always overly cautious Like the other Dark Obsession book in the series, it takes to end for all to be revealed for our hero, and it is shocking even then. The journey of Letty and Tate is beautiful in it's pain and discovery, but so worth the feelings it evokes
