About this ebook

Sizzling with passion and suspense, perfect for fans of Joanna Wylde and Julie Ann Walker, the Brothers of Mayhem series revs up as a headstrong beauty faces off against an outlaw motorcycle club—and falls for the bad boy she never saw coming.

Cassidy Ryder refuses to be intimidated by anyone, even the hell-raising, hard-drinking Brothers of Mayhem. The daughter of their former president, she’s not above smashing a few heads to keep her teenage brother safe. But when Cassidy’s big mouth gets her in trouble, the only thing that saves her is some quick thinking from the Brothers’ bartender. He’s commanding and strong, and as smooth as the whiskey he pours: the ultimate temptation for a girl who swore she’d never be a biker’s plaything.

But Thorn Savalas is no ordinary biker. He’s a cop, and he’s worked too hard earning the Brothers’ trust to blow his cover over a female—even one who rocks a pair of jeans like Cassidy. The only way to protect her is by claiming she’s his old lady. Trouble is, Thorn can’t just pretend. He wants Cassidy, and every scorching touch tells him she feels the same. But acting on their hottest fantasies could leave them both exposed . . . even if nothing else has ever felt so real.

Good read *3.5 star*A great MC story with a strong female lead character and a swoon worthy lead male. Cassidy was raised around the Brothers of Mayhem. Her father was their ex president so she knows full well what the life is like and she's determined to keep her brother out of it. She's always been protected because of who her father was but things are changing and her latest bout of temper against the Brothers has her in deep water. That is until the club bartender Thorn Savalas comes to her rescue. Turns out Thorn isn't quite what he seems to be! The overall book was good but there were parts that I felt a bit lost in. Not sure I understand all the club stuff even now. The ending seemed a bit rushed and had a lot of info thrown in. Still not a bad book and one I would recommend.

Hidden Heat is the first installment in Carla Swafford's new Brothers of Mayhem MC series. This exciting new series will have readers on the edge of their seat and begging for more. Cassidy Ryder will do anything to protect her brother from getting wrapped up with the Brothers of Mayhem motorcycle club, even if that means putting herself in danger. After watching the club destroy her parents you would think Cassidy and her brother would have learned to stay away. Instead it just added extra appeal, but Cassidy learned when she was 16 that the appeal doesn't out weigh the danger of being associated with them. When her brother Storm decides he wants to become a Prospect of the club Cassidy is willing to do anything to stop him even if that means making herself a direct target. Thorn Savalas isn't all he appears to be. As the bartender at the clubs watering hole, Thorn looks the part of a badass biker, down to his Brothers of Mayhem leather cut. But underneath that gruff exterior is a drop dead sexy cop who is hell-bent on bringing down the Brothers of Mayhem. He has worked too long undercover for anything to stop him. But when Cassidy walks into the bar wielding a baseball bat and attitude, Thorn will risk everything to save her from the Brothers, even if that means risking his own agenda. This book was awesome! I loved the chemistry between Cassidy and Thorn and his determination to keep Cassidy safe. This is a definite must read and I cannot wait for more books from this series! I received an eARC of this book from the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Cassidy has a history with the Brothers of Mayhem MC. Before he was sent to prison, Cassidy’s father was president. Her foster father was the VP before he was involved in an accident and is now wheel-chair bound. Cassidy is bound and determined to keep her brother out of trouble. Thing is though, he is trying to become a member of the MC. Because she does not want this kind of life for him, she decides to go to the biker bar looking for answers about her brother. The only thing is she brings a bat to the party. She starts smashing things and shooting off at the mouth. You can imagine how well this goes over with members of the MC. You just don’t disrespect them. Because she is the daughter of the previous president, she has had some leeway and has been able to stay out of trouble with them. But now they don’t really care who her father was. While he is none too happy about the situation, Thorn steps in to save her. After all Thorn is an undercover cop so his instincts kick in to protect her, even if she makes it difficult at times. But the only way he can keep Cassidy out of trouble is to tell the brothers she is his old lady. While he expected to keep her safe, he never thought he would have to guard his heart against falling for her. Both these characters are strong and independent. Neither one of them is afraid to speak their mind. The chemistry between them is strong. There is a sense of suspense and danger, including drugs/violence, weaved throughout the story. The plot was well developed so the story flowed easily. I like how the issue with her brother was resolved. It made him take responsibility for his own actions instead of scrapping out of trouble. I look forward to more stories about the Brothers of Mayhem.
