Intriguing, Suspense & Passionate
This is a very suspenseful, intriguing story with plenty of intense, passionate sexual encounters. This the first story that I have read of Claire Kent's and this story kept me on the edge of my seat from the first few pages to the very end with twist and turns along the way with unexpected surprises that tilts their worlds on it axis. This does have a cliffhanger ending and I am anxiously awaiting the continuation of this story.
Kelly Watson makes a living doing Pet portraits, she lives a relatively private life without many other friends or relationships. She is all about one night stands, she doesn't do relationships and doesn't let anyone get close to her. After witnessing her father get murdered in the woods while he was on a walk with her when she was ten years old, Kelly's life was drastically changed when her mother left her and she was put in the foster care system.
Caleb Marshall is the CEO of Vendella & Company, he is the son of a self made Millionaire who attended private schools and Ivy League college. He is married to his job and has risen in the ranks by doing what was needed or asked of him and working six days a week and twelve hour days. Caleb also doesn't do relationships he doesn't have the time or the patience.
When one Saturday Kelly has an appointment to meet a new client for a portrait at the park, she comes across Caleb, thinking he is the client since his dog fits the clients description. Their attraction is immediate and the chemistry is sizzling and they act on their attraction with the verbal understanding that it is a one time only fling no repeats. Kelly returns home to find her estranged mother with a story that rocks Kelly to the core that the man she just had sex with could possibly be the man who killed her father, and she needs Kelly to get close to him to gather information and that time is of the essence since her mother has been diagnosed with cancer and only has three months to live.
Kelly has a lot to deal with and overcome to interact with Caleb again, but the desire to catch the man who killed her beloved father is something she cannot walk away from. There is deception as well as many twists and turns along the way but there is also something she never thought she would feel and that is love. You have got to read this sexually passionate story of heartbreak, forgiveness and revenge that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Anxiously awaiting the rest of this story.
