The intended suspense falls flat in this racy sequel to Sweet the Sin. Artist Kelly Watson is determined to bring her father's killer to justice before her mother succumbs to cancer. She suspects that Caleb Marshall, the CEO of her father's former employer, was involved with his death; naturally, she decides to seduce some information out of him. Caleb is charming, rich, handsome, and unaware of Kelly's identity. Since she was adopted, he has no idea that her birth father is the subject of one of his deepest, darkest secrets. He's grown to love the person he thinks she is and is ready to give her his all. The more Kelly spends time with him and indulges in his erotic life, the quicker her heart forgets he's the enemy. The constant sexual interludes leave little room for any relationship or plot development, and there's not enough backstory to get new readers up to speed.

I am a big fan of Claire Kent, she writes a romance that is real and hard and flawed like we all are. It makes her characters so relatable. This book had me on the edge of my seat all the way through. I wanted so badly for Caleb and Kelly to end up together. Their romance was raw and hard but truly worth it in the end. There were times that I didn't think their love would be enough and there were times that I felt that they hated each other but isn't that the way of love it's a fine line between love and hate. You just have to lean a little to find bliss.
