I'm not clear on how accurate the series is on European women during the 1800s, but all of the characters really lend some background to the most pressing theme: womanhood. The expectations of women are approached delicately through the main four characters. Looking forward to rereading it.

LOVED every single moment of it. Very sad ending though, but then again life isn't always fair and not everyone gets a happy ending.

This has become my all time favorite book series. I was distraught by the completely unexpected ending that I cried for two weeks. lol I LOVE the characters. highly recommend!
