About this ebook

ONE OF TIME’S TEN MOST IMPORTANT NONFICTION BOOKS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY

In the searing pages of this classic autobiography, originally published in 1964, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and anti-integrationist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Black Muslim movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American Dream, and the inherent racism in a society that denies its nonwhite citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time. The Autobiography of Malcolm X stands as the definitive statement of a movement and a man whose work was never completed but whose message is timeless. It is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand America.

Praise for The Autobiography of Malcolm X

“Extraordinary . . . a brilliant, painful, important book.”The New York Times

“This book will have a permanent place in the literature of the Afro-American struggle.”—I. F. Stone

I have nothing but good things to say about Malcom X. He was truly a man of honor and truth, which consequently led to his assassination and martyrdom. Malcolm X has very important and serious things to say, which is why sometime schools and curriculums shy away from talking about him, rather, they choose to talk about moderate activists like MLK. None the less, very insightful and beneficial.

One of the best reads I've read thru, pretty much cover to cover in my life! Coming from a mixed race family, my father (the darker half of the relationship) deigned it necessary to instill black heritage in our lives ( our; being me and two older brothers) as to have all knowledge possible at our disposal, all the information possible of our roots and where we came from! A must have read if u want the truth straight from one of the most refutable negro foot soldiers during the civil rights movement in a not so-long ago time. No holds-bar about his life from being a drug peddler to the most recognized faces during the nation of Islam, and Black Panther Party, and what separates the two. Well sry so !long, this book has been very informative and eye opening. I am a thirty two yr. Old male and read this book ten yes ago and can discuss every aspect with you as if I was in the room with Mr. Shabazz!

A hero to all. The best book ever written. People are standing on the shoulders of this intellectual giant. People who support BLM clearly do not have the intellect to understand the message of both Malcolm and MLK
