About this ebook

From the bestselling author of the Heller Brothers Hockey series, this charming holiday novella features one of the hunky hockey stars of the Chicago Aces.

The Christmas season always puts a smile on Jenna McFadden’s face. Even though she’s bringing a boyfriend home for the first time, inside she’s dying to see Andrew. Years ago, when the McFaddens took the troubled teen into their home, Jenna had to keep her blazing-hot crush a secret. And now that he’s playing pro hockey for the NHL’s Chicago Aces, nothing’s changed. With his wide shoulders and taut muscles, Andrew’s the most tempting package in the house . . . one that Jenna’s dying to unwrap.

Andrew Ross just can’t make a play for Jenna. Her dad and brothers wouldn’t approve, and he could never betray the trust of the wonderful people who treated him like family when he lost his own. That’s what makes the holidays so hard. Whether Jenna’s skating with Andrew on a frozen pond or sitting on his lap while he plays Santa, she’s pushing all their boundaries—and there’s only so much a man can take. Andrew knows that she’s off-limits. But something deep down tells him that Jenna’s heart is the one prize he simply has to win.

An incredibly sweet and adorable novella. Andrew has been living with his best friend’s family, the McFadden’s, since he was a teenager and his family tragically died. He always considered Jenna a little sister but the older she got the more Andrew took notice. He never made a move on her because when he moved in he was warned away by Jenna’s father. Now years later, Andrew has made a name for himself as a professional hockey player. He has a good job, a nice new house but he is still lonely. When he goes back home for Christmas he is surprised to find Jenna there with a new boyfriend in tow. He has always been secretly in love with Jenna and one hot weekend they shared in college and has kept secret has haunted him. He knows they can be explosive together but how can he betray the trust of the family who took him in when he had nowhere else to go. He loves them like his own family but his love for Jenna just as powerful. Jenna will never forget the one weekend she truly got to be Andrew’s center of attention. They were perfect together but she knew deep down it couldn’t last. When her new boyfriend asks to come home with her for the holidays she agrees but once she is back home she starts to see how different the two of them are. Those feelings only intensify the more she is around Andrew and she can’t help but wonder if she is doubting her relationship for valid reasons or is it because she is around her true love that got away. I enjoyed both characters. Andrew was seriously hot and so sweet and possessive when it came to Jenna. You can feel the love he has for her and the internal struggle he is dealing with when it comes to his feelings for her and his feelings of betrayal. These two have a little bit of a journey to get to their HEA but the climb is worth it. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Loved this story! While it may be the typical brother's best friend trope with a twist, the excellent storytelling of the author and the great characters she created made this book a notch above the others. I could feel the conflict Andrew had between going for happiness with Jenna and the fear of losing the only family he really has. Jenna and Andrew's chemistry could be felt through the pages. There simply was no denying it and the family's reaction was perfect. This is a great read and one I will be recommending to everyone.
