Summary
Welcome to the world of Ann Coulter. With her monumental bestsellers Treason, Slander, and High Crimes and Misdemeanors, Coulter has become the most recognized and talked-about conservative intellectual in years—and certainly the most controversial. Now, in How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must), which is sure to ignite impassioned debate, she offers her most comprehensive analysis of the American political scene to date. With incisive reasoning, refreshing candor, and razor-sharp wit, she reveals just why liberals have got it so wrong.

In this powerful and entertaining book, which draws on her weekly columns, Coulter ranges far and wide. No subject is off-limits, and no comment is left unsaid. After all, she writes, “Nothing too extreme can be said about liberals because it’s all true.” How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must) offers Coulter’s unvarnished take on:

•The essence of being a liberal: “The absolute conviction that there is one set of rules for you, and another, completely different set of rules for everyone else.”

•John Kerry: “A reporter asked Kerry, ‘Are you for or against gay marriage?’ As usual, his answer was, ‘Yes.’ ”

•Her 9/11 comments: “I am often asked if I still think we should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity. The answer is: Now more than ever!”

•The state of the Democratic Party: “Teddy Kennedy crawls out of Boston Harbor with a quart of Scotch in one pocket and a pair of pantyhose in the other, and Democrats hail him as their party’s spiritual leader.”

•Her philosophy for arguing with liberals: “Tough love, except I don’t love them. My ‘tough love’ approach is much like the Democrats’ ‘middle-class tax cuts’—everything but the last word.”

•The “Treason Lobby”: “Want to make liberals angry? Defend the United States.”

In this full-on Coulterpalooza, you’ll find the real, uncensored Ann Coulter. A special concluding chapter even includes the pieces that squeamish editors refused to publish—“what you could have read if you lived in a free country,” says Coulter. How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must) is a stunning reminder of why Ann Coulter’s commentary has achieved must-read status.

This a great book if you're on either side. It will show how liberals can be categorized and how we conservatives view you and why we don't want to be you. There are some points that are pretty far out there but then there are many times I was laughing at how true something are and how ridiculously funny the seem in context. I recommend this! Ann is a witty, funny and brings many good points to the table with out a filter. She says it how she believes it.

Ann reads her own books, which is a great plus and adds to the experience. Very good book.

She is a plagiarist and at times an out right liar, and the book is still awful. She thought Canada fought with America in Vietnam, refers to a preschool class learning sex ed when her own foot notes lead you to a study about a college class learning about sex ed. Get ready for a lot of false information. Irresponsible Publishing!

I'm not an out spoken political activist, but I have strong opinions. This was a new genre of literature for me; I'm used to pleasure reading novels that incorporate intellectual thoughts through literary art. I found her book to be repetitive had to force myself to focus. Her ideas were sound and she supported her opinions with many facts so she's done her homework, and she's actually a very funny author. I will read more of Ms. Coulter's books.

So entertaining and so true! Ann's humor is so outrageous but definitely hits the mark. I'd recommend this book highly.

Coulter cuts through the politically correct BS and right to the point.

Finally a commentator who doesn't pull punches and says what many think (but won't say due to political correctness). I think that some of her statements are said tongue in cheek, but saying it the way she does shows the absurdity of the opposing view. I am anxiously awaiting her newest book.

Ann is the best. If you like her other books you will love this one. If you are not a fan you should read it and learn.

I love Ann Coulter. This book is really a collection of her columns from the past four or five years. It even includes some material that was originally rejected by her publishers for being too stinging. Great book for conservatives, not recommended for liberals - especially those with thin skin!

This was my first experience with Ms. Coulter and while I found myself smiling at some of her witty insights into liberal politics and antics, I also found myself wincing at some of the tongue lashing she poured upon them. I am glad I took the time to take a listen, but I don't think I will venture into Coulter territory again. Conservative that I may be, I don't know that I agree that our problems can be blamed on liberals as much as they can be blamed on all of us. I am sure that for almost every wrong that can be assigned to a liberal an equal offense can be blamed on a conservative...so why waste the time?

I truly enjoyed Ann Coulter's wit and honesty when so many far left liberals have, it appears, the forefront in the media. It restores my faith that someone is out there, with the truth, that so many of us need to hear.

Another Ann Coulter bestseller. I highly recommend this book for most people who vote and keep current on political issues. Ann does a great job in displaying the political left leaning anti-American groups vying for power in our country. I hope many more people read or listen to this book so that they can see how to deal with the liberal faction within this country. I am eager for her next book!

I truly enjoyed this book. I have read all of Ann’s previous books, and this particular one is my favorite. Overall, I found the book to be very humorous and enlightening. There were moments were I laughed so hard that it was hard to breathe! She presents her many excellent points in her own unique sarcastic and witty way. This book is a collection of her syndicated columns, which I have not previously read, so if you have been avidly reading her columns, you might not enjoy the book as much as someone who is hearing her views for the first time.

Well, despite the summary, Ann's wit in HTTtaL is far from "razor-sharp". I thought I knew what I was getting into with this title, but even Coulter's nonsesical rants on Fox News could not have prepared me for the absurdity she unleashes here. Hoping to gain some political insight from Ms. Coulter, who is well-positioned to provide it, I was instead treated to a mean-spirited blab-fest that doesn't speak well to conservatives or liberals. At a loss for who she was trying to get aboard her fiery ship of hate, I finally gave up halfway through. Too bad there isn't a zero-star option.

Good and humorous look at the the difference in the political parties in this country. The book further illustrates the bias in the media and how diferent the general public views thing when compared to the leftist in this country .
