Unabridged Audiobook
This was a simple little book with somewhat interesting characters and a very uncomplicated story line. Parts of it are humorous and I did appreciate that. However, the story was to have taken place in 1903. While parts of it did have the feel of that era, at times I felt some of the references gave it a modern feel as when the narrator is describing some of the medical procedures. Gene Wilder does the narration and is wonderful at portraying the characters--as you would expect. So that might make it worth the listening. It's also pretty short--about 2 hours worth but even so it did seem to drag at times.
