About the author

Kandeel Judge, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician. Dr. Judge received her medical training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to joining Sutter Medical Group in 2003, she was senior staff physician at Henry Ford Hospital. She currently practices internal and holistic medicine and is a speaker at wellness classes and lectures. 

Maxine Barish-Wreden, MD, earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Barish-Wreden and Dr. Kandeel Judge, both members of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, are the medical directors of the Sutter Integrative Medicine Program.

Karen K. Brees, PhD, is a freelance writer. She received her master's degree in history from Ohio State University and holds a doctorate in adult education from the University of Idaho. She coauthored The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Power of the Enneagram and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Secrets of Longevity, and is the author of The Everything Health Guide to Depression.
