Extremely enlightening, uplifting, and inspiring book; beautiful to read. The author's vulnerability allows for a relational, organic reading experience that is perfect for the subject of simple living. The book never feels like a lecture or judgment, but like an intimate conversation about slowing down, and a warm invitation to join. As a minimalist, I found this book centering. I've already downsized in my life, but this reminded me to reconnect with the values behind minimalism. It's easy to get caught up in the steps, going through the motions, without connecting to our intention and purpose. "Soulful Simplicity" reminded me to find my center. It was the gentle push I needed to remember that having "less" in my life is really all about having "more" -- more relationships, more time, more joy, more love. This book offers insight, grace, and joy. Whether you're brand new to the idea of simple living or you came to the concept ages ago, this book will enlighten and encourage you.

I have been reading Courtney's blog for years, so at I first resisted buying the book. I didn't want another book on simplifying. It kept showing up in places & finally I bought it & read it. Courtney put so much more in it than just her blog posts. I've gleaned more about rest and listening for what I need as I simplify.
