Publisher Description
For the first time, Andrew Ridgeley—one half of one of the most famous bands in the world—tells the inside story of Wham!, his lifelong friendship with George Michael, and the formation of a band that changed the shape of the music scene in the early eighties.
In 1975 Andrew took a shy new boy at school under his wing. They instantly hit it off, and their boyhood escapades at Bushy Meads School built a bond that was never broken. The duo found themselves riding an astonishing roller coaster of success, taking them all over the world. They made and broke iconic records, they were treated like gods, but they stayed true to their friendship and ultimately to themselves. It was a party that seemed as if it would never end. And then it did, in front of tens of thousands of tearful fans at Wembley Stadium in 1986.
Andrew’s memoir covers in wonderful detail those years, up until that last iconic concert: the scrapes, the laughs, the relationships, the good, and the bad. It’s a unique and one-and-only time to remember that era, that band, and those boys.

Relive the 1980’s
First of all I loved Wham and I loved George Michael. When I saw his performance in Live Aid in 1985 I knew without a doubt that he would go on to become a treasured solo performer! With that said, Wham was an unbelievable band in itself. George and Andy were a perfect duo.
This is a wonderful and loving tribute to that short period of time when Wham was huge. Thank you Andrew for sharing this personal success story!
The book was wonderfully written and encapsulated the era and the music brilliantly. I miss Wham. I miss George. I miss what George would be doing now, musically if her were alive. If only.....
Awesome book!
Thank you Andrew John Ridigeley, I loved the audio book and the hard copy of the book too! It was so very fun to hear and read! My aunt and my mom loved you guys in the 1980’s both of them thought that you were fairly cute, but they really loved your friend George Michael!(I am smitten with him and with you too!(even though I promised my soul sister(((((who told me that she fancies you!) that she can have you!)(she would have also loved your BFF too.))))they loved him so much. They actually saw your BFF in concert in 2005!(this was when I didn’t know anything about him or about Wham either!)(I discovered his music and your songs in my teens to early 20’s! I am a also a long time female of Wham and of George Michael too! I was completely shocked and sad all over again when I read the heart breaking part(your BFF’s death on Christmas Day 5 years ago,(My aunt and my mom told me about it for the first time.),(((((((((((((my aunt and my mom were devastated too!) it wasn’t right, why did the sun have to go down on him way too soon.(I was born in 2001, and my soul sister was born in 2000. We wish that we should have been born in the 1970’s and come of age in the 1980’s alongside my soul sister(whom I sent the hardcover version of this book to and also the audio book)where I could have married him and my soul sister could have married you.)with love and hopefulness from a 21-year-old female fan from a small town in Arizona who loves Wham’s music and your BFF’s music too!
