About this ebook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Written with input from director Rian Johnson, this official adaptation of Star Wars: The Last Jedi expands on the film to include scenes from alternate versions of the script and other additional content.

From the ashes of the Empire has arisen another threat to the galaxy’s freedom: the ruthless First Order. Fortunately, new heroes have emerged to take up arms—and perhaps lay down their lives—for the cause. Rey, the orphan strong in the Force; Finn, the ex-stormtrooper who stands against his former masters; and Poe Dameron, the fearless X-wing pilot, have been drawn together to fight side-by-side with General Leia Organa and the Resistance. But the First Order’s Supreme Leader Snoke and his merciless enforcer Kylo Ren are adversaries with superior numbers and devastating firepower at their command. Against this enemy, the champions of light may finally be facing their extinction. Their only hope rests with a lost legend: Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.

Where the action of Star Wars: The Force Awakens ended, Star Wars: The Last Jedi begins, as the battle between light and dark climbs to astonishing new heights.

Featuring thrilling photos from the hit movie

I really disliked the force awakens, but I can't get enough of the last Jedi. So I had to buy this book. The author really isn't that good, quite bland, really, and seems only to elaborate on plot points he finds worth exploring. Granted, he added scenes I really needed, like Leia's connection to the force, Han's memorial, and many more. But what I really wanted was more insight into the characters of Ben Solo and Rey. The author gives you nothing more than the movie does. Maybe there's a reason for it.

Don't pay any mind to my cranky brother - he's just being a grump because he doesn't want to wait. The reason the novelization hasn't come out yet is to ensure that only what is definitely canon will be in it. Disney had to have known that there would be major backlash because Rian Johnson's script was so different - so the execs hedged their bets and played it safe for the future of the franchise. Also, it is a great strategy to increase hype. Everyone knows that the novelization always contains more info than the movie, and some of us are pretty rabid to know what new details will become canon and change our perception of this installment of the franchise!

Star Wars-"The Last Jedi". The author told the story well.Every generation has future warriors.Rey rescues her friends.Poe recalls his past as a young dreamer. And finally there are those who one day will also play a role. Star Wars is 'good reading'.
