About the author

Muriel Whitaker is professor emerita of English, University of Alberta, and an internationally known scholar specializing in medieval literature and art. She is the author of a number of academic publications, including two books, and the editor of four anthologies of Canadian stories including Great Canadian Adventure Stories, Stories from the Canadian North, and The Princess, the Hockey Player, Magic and Ghosts. She has also written a children's picture book, Pernilla in the Perilous Forest.
