I think I went in expecting something else. I was hoping for more of a minimalist, practical book based on the reviews. Instead I found a fanciful author who threw out necessary household tools because they didn't "spark joy" and advocates throwing away course materials because "if you ever need to use what you learn, you can just take the course again". This on the heels of talking about how her clients would throw away possessions and then go out shopping for things that sparked joy. Maybe it is just how the book is laid out but overall it left a bad impression. The folding methods and storage tips are handy. Definitely a book to borrow and not buy as this does not "spark joy" in me.

I enjoyed reading this book. I don't think that I would do my decluttering exactly her way...but, I did find her method of folding and storing clothes a good way. A few good tips throughout.
